We’ll do a lot of writing in third grade this year. We’ll write fiction and nonfiction in various ways. We’ll also have a lot of choice in our writing. Writing is difficult and personal. It’s also a very important life skill. Last week we began setting up our writer’s notebooks. In the first few pages we are collecting ideas of things we might like to write about throughout the year (for those times when we feel we don’t have anything to write about – we can go back and look at these pages). The rest of the notebook is for our writing and we’ve gotten it started!
