As we read we are using post-it notes to mark our thinking about the book. We might just use a symbol, such as a ? for something confusing or an ! for something surprising, or we might write some words on the post-it note to remember what we were thinking at that point. Most days we have a chance to share our thinking after our independent reading time. This helps us learn from each other and exposes us to new books we might want to read.
