Every day we spend some time reading. Students have books from our classroom library and from the school library for reading. (Some have also brought favorite books from home they are enjoying.) On the second day of school we read independently for 5 minutes. By the end of the second week we were reading for 15 minutes. That’s a challenge for some but not long enough for others. We’ll keep building our reading stamina.
