Earlier in the year we studied functional format texts (recipes, directions, fliers, etc.). It was only a couple of weeks so we spent a little time reviewing those types of texts last week. Our first go around with them was pretty early in the year. It was amazing to see how much more these third graders understand now than they did back then.
