Multiplication comes more easily, often, than division. That means we get more concrete with division so here we were sharing 36 crackers. Students had 36 blocks so they could divide the ‘crackers’ into different groups. They got to decide on the groups and they found that some worked and some didn’t. Sharing with 5 people leaves a leftover cracker, while sharing among 6 people goes equally.
