Cuisenaire Rods are wonderful math tools. We’ll use them throughout the year so we took some time last week to explore them and see what we can do with them. Then we used them to build equivalent equations. Cuisenaire Rods are different sizes and can be used to create various, similar lengths. For example, two yellow rods might equal one orange rod. Which could be written as 5 + 5 = 10. (As it takes 10 of the smallest rod to make an orange rod.)
