These third graders’ multiplication skills are really growing!
Students begin arriving in our classroom every morning at 9:00 am. We start our morning meeting at 9:25. During that 25 minutes, as students are arriving, many different things are happening, as you can see here.
We’ve been studying numerical prefixes (uni-, bi-, tri-) and we matched to create tri- words and find a picture of them (trillion, triangle, trisect, etc.).
More work on patterns! Here students are matching patterns. Some were created by adding, some by subtracting, some by multiplying. It was a challenge!
Math games are a great way to practice our skills. This patterns game requires us to identify the pattern on a card. Some patterns are repeating and others are growing.
As the weather continues to get colder, we’re likely to have more indoor recess days. Hopefully we’ll keep having a good time with them!
November 10th was Sesame Street’s 54th birthday. To celebrate we watched a clip (quite an old clip) about voting since we had an election earlier that week.
