We’ve been figuring out how to code in preparation for working with Finch Robots. We’ve used both Make:Code and Snap! programming languages. The links can be found in our Schoology classroom.
Together we wrote a letter to thank the PTO for the pizza. The students determined the wording and did the writing.
For Pi Day (March 14th) our fabulous PTO provided pizza pies for a celebration.
We’re bringing together our learning and skills in reading, writing, and history in our current research projects. Each student has determined a question about colonial history in Virginia that they are researching.
Our whiteboards come in handy for working on writing and spelling words.
Dismissal can take a while for some students if their buses are the later ones to be called. Luckily the books we’ve read together are on display by the carpet and easily available for rereading.
After watching the guided drawing, we learned more about some animals that live in the ocean. We read about them and determined where in the ocean (near the surface or deeper) to create our own model.
We’ve been exploring lots of different roots this year. The most recent is mov/mot/mob which means to move. We’ve read and written words with that root. We’re gaining skills in reading words, spelling words, and figuring out what words mean.
